Pressure has risen considerably everywhere, yesterday's disturbance having moved rapidly to the eastwards since-last Bight. South-west winds were still strong this morning at places along the east coast and in the far north, but generally they have decreased in force, and except for some scattered showers, the weather is now much Improved. Yesterday was bitterly cold, boisterous, and showery over most of the Dominion, and hall or snow fell in many parts of the South Island. Hail was also reported at isolated coastal stations in the North Island, and snow in the high central region.
