(Received 26th May, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, 25th May.. Offerings at the London wool sales to-day were 9297 bales, including 4067 bales of New Zealand. Approximately 5674 bales were gold. Opening rates were maintained, and there was.a more general demand. Some withdrawals of lines offered were made owing to the high limits placed upon them. Realisations of New Zealand wools included "Kawa," greasy crossbred—Highest "price, 7%d; average, 5%d. Messrs. Murray, Eoberts, and Co., Ltd., are in receipt of the following wool market cablegram from their London agents, dated 24th May:—"Sales have opened, competition fair; Bradford buyers principal operators; greasy merino, poor selection offered, par to 5 per cent, decline; scoured merino, nothing offered; crossbred greasy fine declined 5 to 7% per cent.; crossbred greasy medium declined ,10 per cent.; crossbred greasy coarse declined 15 per cent.; slipe crossbred declined 10 to 15 per cent.; crossbred. scoured declined 15 per cent." : : : Quotations for the opening o£ the present sales compared with rates at the close of the April series, ore as follow:— May.
