Heavy rain last night made the track soft for the final gallops, for which the rain held up.
Boyal Hunting and Ganpat went half a mile together before breakfast in 51sec, both going well. .
Princess Elizabeth jumped four of the big fences well and ran off at the next, but then cleared it cleanly. Shrewd did useful work, and Gay Court i.an half a. mile in 52sec.
, The Sun and Clopton ran six furlongs, the former finishing in front in lmin 20^sec. •. . Kowhatu went over three fences, including the double, in good style. He was then pulled out and did a solid round on. the flat.
