I AUCKLAND, This Day. i The Auckland provincial golf championship commenced yesterday with the two qualifying rounds. In the match play to-day the first round resulted:— Miss M. Stevens beat Mrs. G. E. Buttle, 6>and 5;" Mrs. G. Williams (Masterton) beat Miss K. Horton, 1 up at the nineteenth; Mrs. B. L. Wilson (present champion) beat Mrs. K. Eutherford, 5 and 4; Miss N. MacCormick beat Mrs. G. McMillan, 2 and 1; Mrs. R. S. Deigliton beat MrsrN. Weston (Heretaunga), 7. and 6; Miss F. Eathbone beat Miss E. Culling, 4 and 3,-.Mrs. J. M. Wilson beat Miss O. Stevens, 4 and 3; Mrs.' T. Hosking beat Mrs. G. P. Ferguson, 1 up at the nineteenth.
