"The meeting was addressed by Mr. P. Fraser, M.P., and Mr. A, Parlane, of the Drivers' Union, who endorsed the action taken by the Belief Workers' Strike Committee up to that evening, but; discountenanced any acts of violence. Mr. Traser expressed admiration of the manner in which, the demonstration had- been organisod up to the time it completed its meeting at Parliament Buildingg.- The two speakers were thanked for attendance 'and then retired from the meeting. "A relief finance committee was then I formed of seven members with power I to act. 'It was also proposed that a Trade Union Comraitteo be formed and three members were 'elected. This pro-, posal was put and, carried, and also a motion that all relief works in Welling- i ton be declared '{black..».-; i "It was also^moved fcnd'carried that any steps toward- the settlement of the strike, be'conducted only through tKe official strike committee, and. that only statements issued by the strike committee be accepted as official.' A general mass meeting of relief workers has been called to be held at the Basin1 Keserve at 10 o'clock this morning "
