MJt HOLLAND ON STRIKES

In answer to a question by a member of: the Unemployed Workers' Movement Mr. H. E. Holland, Leader of the Opposition, stated at his meeting at LoWer Hutt last night that he was not in favour of strikes in a time of deflation and did not consider'a strike would succeed at the present time. He had never been in favour of the preamble of the LW.W. - ■■ .■

"That's a lie," said the questioner. ' I 'Mr. Holland: "My friend won't expect me to take any more notice of him after that statement." ■

To another member of the Unemployed Workers' Movement who made abusive reference to the member for the district, Mr. Holland replied by pointing out that Mr. Nash had received the largest majority of any candidate in New Zealand.
