OVERTURES FOR TREATY
NOT TILL AFTER OTTAWA

'(Received 3rd May, 11 a.m.) ' RUGBY, 2nd May: Questioned as to whether the Government would invite representatives of Denmark to confer regarding a mercial Treaty whereby Denmark, in return for importing an increased qaan-1 tity of British materials and manufactures, would become entitled to some of the advantages enjoyed by the British Dominions and: Colonies, Major Colville, for the Board of Trade, said that no negotiations could be undertaken until after the Ottawa Conference. The Government would be glad to consider any proposals which might be put. forward by Denmark after the Ottawa Conference-.
