The for seats on the Waiinea County Council, and'for county council representatives on the Nelson and ."Motueka Harbour Boards, on th,e Nelson Hospital Board, and on the Waimea Elec- * trie Power Board, closed to day. The nominations for the ridings, each of ■which, has one councillor, are: Whangamoa, John Colder, Stoke, George Manson, Leslie A Higgins; Dove dile,»' Arthur A. Eenyon, Motueka, Horatio Everett; Appleby, Loo. M Pal mer (sitting member), and Samuel E O'Hara; Wai-iti, Heibert Everett and Robert- Freeman; Wangapeka, Frederick Gibbs (sittiilg member) and Ernest H. Jones.; Moutere, Richard Teece (sitting member) and Karl D. Epgeis. For th?ee members to lepresen*1 the county on the Hospital Board five nominations were, received—H G. Berryman, Herbert Everett, Frederick W. Gibbs, A. A. Kenyon, and^Henry Tunnichffe. Th& xeauired, number (thiee) were nominated to represent the county on the JHarbour Board. They aie Funk W. iGreenslade, George Manson, and Charles fr. Prfce. The latter two are sitting members.

McKay, and Arthur Rollings The death of Captain George Williams at Ins home tn Stepneyville, Port Nelson, at th 6 age of 68 jears, removes one who for many years has been a well known figure at Port Nelson. For a numbers of veais lie was a seaman and joined the Nelson pilot staff. Fmey was largely attended by the publir and representatives of bodies with ■which he had been-associated, including the City Council, Tiotting ClubV and Jockey Club, and the Faimeis' Union.
