Winds.—Easterly at first about and north of Cook Strait, and strong to gale force; later becoming moro southerly; elsewhere winds variable, with southerlles prevailing, and later freshening. •. •

Seas.—Heavy north of East Cape, and becoming rough elsewhere north of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura; moderate tlience southwards Tide.—High, north of East Cape; moderate south of Farewell Spit; elsewhere good. Warning Signals for south-easterly gales are exhibited at Cape Maria Tan Dlemen. Cape Campbell, Stephens Island, and Farewell Spit Weather.—Generally dull and misty, with fog on parts of the east coast; rain probable; heavy falls from Nelson and Marlborough northwards, and flooding in the Auckland -and Hawkes Bay provinces, but more scattered iv southern districts.
