HAMILTON, This Day. An echo of the Auckland riots was heard in. the Hamilton Magistrate's Court to-day, when Thomas Frederick Perry, aged 39, was sentenced t& six weeks' imprisonment for receiving stolen goods. /

When being escorted to the police station on a drunkenness charge, the accused dropped a matchbox containing a wristlet watch'and subsequently admitted it was obtained by looting in the Auckland riots. 'He Tefused to divulge the name of the person who gave it to him.

The Magistrate commented that ho would have made- the sentence lesß had the accused not .shown a disposition, to shield others.
