The recent anti-cyclone has passed away eastwards, and barometers have been falling over the Dominion. An Intense tropical cyclone, which yesterday was centred south-east of the J>ew Hebrides, has moved rapidly south-east-wards, and this morning Its centre was located north-east of Norfolk Island. North-easterly winds have, consequently, become strong at places in the Par North, and at 9 a;m. to-day they were accompanied by rain in the Auckland peninsula. Elsewhere winds have been moderate and variable, but mainly: from some easterly quarter, and the weather has continued to be fair with gradually increasing cloud.
