TALLOW AND HEMP.

The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated 23rd April, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:— Tallow. —Market continues quiet and little business has been done, with no material change in values. Hemp.—Manila: Market dull and neglected. Value "X" grade for April-June shipment £17. Output from Ist January to 11th April, 273,000 bales, against 372,000 for same period last year. Stocks in the United Kingdom at 31st March 24,482 bales, against 7205 bales same time last year. Sisal: Market dull and easier. No. 1 fair average quality for April-June shipment sold at £11 ss. New Zealand: Market unchanged. Nominal value of AprilJune shipment on the basis of fair, £15. Stocks in London on 31st March, 125 tons, against 40 tons same time last year.
