FITZHERBERT TERRACE TREES
• • (To the Editor.) ;i Sir,—Although it caused a little surprise to hear of the decision of the Gity Council tO^ root out" the trees in Mtzherbert terrace, it is what might-be expected when we consider past proposals and mistakes. I am one of'many who regard the project with disgust.. Because of these trees this terrace is perhaps the most beautiful street in Wellington. What an- exhilarating time, councillors, would have m England converting mellowed old parks into real beauty'spots" with conventional flower-beds and "edgings of rock work" or better still, "concrete curbings!"—l am, etc., ••,': -: , : • ■ . ... ■- ■:;■■::i''-'\ :.V X,,--- M.CIM.;
