TAX ON BACHELORS
(To the Editor.) Sir, —I fully agree with your correspondent, Mr. James Wallace, that the bachelors should be taxed. There must be many bachelors to-day earning more money than married men with families. I think, in the present crisis, there should be no objections to their paying a 10 per cent, tax or a salary of £3 10s and over; the money contributed to be used for whatever purpose the Government thought best. —I am, etc., TAX THE BACHELOR.
