Raymond, Timanj, who has boon spending a few days with Mrs. F, W. Jollands, Lower Jlutt, loft last evening for Ghristchurch, where sho will spend a fow days before1 returning to Timaru. Mr. and Mrs. 8. "W. M, Stilling have returned to Wellington after a visit to the South Island. Dr. Winsome Young, Wellington, is visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. S. Young, Christchureh. Mr. and Mrs, Denis Muir, Wellington, arc tho guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Webster, Timaru. Mrs. D. Kitto is a Wellington visitor to Christehurch. Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Packer, Timaru, who have been spending a holiday in Wellington, have returned home. Mrs. Dr. Simmons, of Patca, is staying at the Grand Hotel. The engagement is announced in an exchange of Christopher, youngest son of Lady Hosking, Waiau, and of tho lato Hon. Sir John Hosking, and Kathleen Mary, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. Razell Wood, Timaru.

Mrs. P. C. Hjorring (Oamaru), Miss M. .K. Ford (Auckland), and Captain ana Mrs, P. A. Williams (Suva, Fiji), are staying at the Midland Hotel.
