AN AUSTRALIAN TRIBUTE
Among the many beautiful tributes placed at the base of the Wellington Cenotaph on Anzac Day, one of trio most striking was certainly that presented by Mr. Warwick Gregory, president of .the Australian' Society "in New Zealand. . Based on the shape of • the map of Australia, outlined with many beautiful blossoms, the wreath bore the message, "Australia mourns," picked out in clusters of blue. violets across its surface. .. , This is the first occasion upon -which a wreath of this nature has been placed on a New Zealand Cenotaph by an official body of Australians resident in the Dominion, and marks one of the objects for which the Australian Society was formed, namely, recognition of Anzac Day. This beautiful wreath which had been placed on view in the city prior to* Anzao Day, created much favourable comment, and quite an unusual amount of interest.
