His car, the F. H. Stewart Enterprise, also will return to Auckland, by steamer.. The object, is not officially announced, but the statement ■ is made that Mr. Smith will have the car overhauled and take it back to the beach next week.-. It is learned that Mr. Don Harkness, the designer and builder of the Enter- ' prise, will return to Auckland from ; Australia next week, and that to-mor-row a firm of solicitors acting for Mr. Harkness will issue a writ against: Mr. ■ Smith claiming a sum of money alleg|Bd to be duo-from-Mr. Smith to Mr. ; Harkness; also that Mr. Harkness will launch an action claiming damages for . alleged libel, Mr. Harkness alleging that some of Mr. Smith.* statements in the recent technical-controversy ha.ye in. . jured his-reputation as ; an engineer.
