E. Edstrom, president of the International Amateur Athletic Federation. The letter was in reply to one forwarded by the' council last December, nominating Mr. Leslie, official starter to the Wellington Centre, as a i tarter at the Olympiad. Mr. W. F. Ingram raised the question of whether the council proposed making anjr donation to or assisting Mr. Leslie in some other way in connection with the expenses of the trip. The' secretary (Mr. L. A. Tracy) said that Mr. Leslie had undertaken to pay his own expenses.
