(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) GHEISTCHUECH^This Day. The strike of the Waimakariri relief ■workers continues. So far only 35 men have offered for. employment. Fearing reprisals, four policemen stood on. guard at McLean's Island camp during the night, but no attempt •was made to molest the men in the iat3. . Despite this the men spent an anxious night, and as a precautionary measure had pickhandles within easy reach of their bunks. Two other policemen guarded the approaches to the camps.
