The Dairy Board is advised by cablegram, of the close of the London provision market for Easter and giving prices as follows:— Butter. p er cw t. New Zealand, salt 107s to 109s New Zealand, unsalted 114s to 118s Australian, salt 103s to 105s Australian, unsalted 104s to 108s Danish, spot HBs Dutch, unsalted 128s to 130s Argentine, unsalted 100s to 104s The butter market was described as slow. Danish was selling retail at Is 3d per lb and New Zealand at Is 2d. Deliveries New. Zealand butter: 1364 tons, Australian 2714 tons. In store: New Zealand 4376 tons, Australian 3301 tons. The Empire Marketing Board's estimate of all butters in store at 24th March j was equal to 381,898 boxes, compared with 290,727 boxes at this time last year. Cheese is described as having a steady market, and prices were as follows: — Cheese. Per cwt. New Zealand, white 60s 6d to 61s New Zealand, coloured ... 61s to 62s Australian, white 59s 6d to 62s Australian, coloured :. 60s to 61s Canadian, white and colord. 63s to 74s The retail price of New Zealand cheese was 8d per pound. Deliveries of New Zealand cheese were 13,666 crates and Canadian 3950 boxes. Stocks were: New Zealand 74,000 crates, Canadian 109,538 boxes. Compared with prices ruling this v time last year, New Zealand butter is clieaper by 4s per. cwt, but cheese is dearer to-day by 8s to 9s for white, 7s to 8s for coloured.
