MAORI FATALLY HURT
CAR JAMS AGAINST BRIDGE

WANGANUI, 26th March. Through a car in which he was riding as a passenger slipping into a water-table and becoming jammed against a bridge, Kahurangi Hikawera, well known as Jack August, was crushed, and later died from his injuries, August, a Maori residing at- Waitotara, was 20 years of age, married, and without a family.
He was riding in the front seat of a car driven by Mr. John Parker. The accident occurred about six miles from Waitotara, on the Wanganui road. The injured man was taken, to the Wanganui Hospital, where he died.
