BREWERIES' PROFITS.
Although Australian breweries did not suffer as severely as many other branches of business, profits earned in 1931 decreased by 29.2 per cent, compared with those of 1930. Following is a compariso nof profits earned by the eight companies on> aggregated shareholders' funds amounting to £14,733,746 in the last two years:-2- ■. \

SYDNEY FRESH FOOD PROFITS.
Net profit of £7909 shown by the New South Wales Fresh Food and Ice Co.-, Ltd., for the year ended;3lst December is slightly more than half that for the previous year. The company is largely.in the milk trade. No interim dividend having been paid, a dividend of 3 per cent, for the year is now proposed, requiring £8462, or £553 more than the profit. The balance of £5677 brought forward is reduced to £5124, to be carried . forward. The dividend rate is a decline of 2V4 per cent, on the year. For 1#29 it was 3 per cent., and 1930 5% per cent. '
