HIGH COMEDY'S SPRINT. Leitrim was a hot favourite over High Comedy- for;the-Suburban- Handicap, but •lie-was ne*er near the : front, and his iailiire. to;do v better'.was hard, to understand. The only two of the sis runners, . jyha 6Ter,-appeared. to; bave .chances were

Huntingdon and Hish Comedy, and when Huntingdon let High Comedy through on the rails,at the turn that was the end of it, for Voitre kept High Comedy very busy froni.:.{h t en on. ~-. Royal Ruler was a moderate"third, and Leitrim -was fourth. Huntingdon ■••was not knocked about after being, headed by.High Comedy, and he finished "second \yith his rider sittiug siti.H. Huntingdon has not, been required to do much work in the past few weeks, and his effort was a good one in 'the circumstances. ANTIQUE SCORES AGAIN. On the strength of his good win in tho Cup Antique was installed favourite, for the Takapuuu Jockey Club Handicap, and j lie duly scored. Gray kept him in the renr division until about halt a mile tram home; and then began to move up on the outside. Kearing the turn Antique dashed past Chromadyne, Sir Jlond, Gay Cockade, and Brampton, who had been abreast iu-the- lead- across the top, and was not troubled to win from Royal Artist, who came with' a good-rim at the end. Mosque was a creditable third, and Chief Joy was fourth. Antique's performance was a good one, and Gray was. sitting still on him at the finish. Chromadyne, Sir Mond, Gay Cockade, and Brampton boat themselves out in front. FAVOURITES DISAPPOINT. .-'Barabury and Miss Isorraine were the favourites for the Hobsou Handicap, but, after being up in the lead with Whirlaloug until, near. the. turn, they tired and were nmonj the last to finish, the only one behind • Bambiiry being Directory, who is very-.green.'.' The winner was Gigantic, a .jiali'-brothetl' by Colossus to Mosque arid Mosaic,. '::', Gigantic seems to run his best:races, on':the second day, for he also won on the second day v at Thames. He is a lazy-r customer,^ biifeie rolled into nit -work well.; when, his '..rider drew the whip at the.;turn and-won with a little m hand from Whirlalong and Letitia, who dead-heated for second. ..tetitia is a. halfsister by Limond. to .Thespian. She finished on well and"is a-beat filly who mar win soon. ;>. .' ..-.. :..'... STILL ANOTHER SETBACK. ; An outsider,.Glrarata eft'ectpd a big suri*Ue when .he.scored narrowly from Alloy inistKeßaogitoto Hack Handicap. Whakapara led;-;for-'two furlongs when he gave way^t6-.:.G!enrata and • Paper -Dart, who raced: together, in,front until reaching the Wruj. where:Pata?ha,: Gay Idea, and Alloy W!«w».! nandy.:(}lenrata then-gained a-slight advantage;;, and : just -stalled ■ off Alloy? to wstf byv»,neck. Pateena.was three lengths back:^hird,- with. Paper .Dart, Gay Idea, and,, Grand .Spirit, next. • Glenrata was unsighted in- the Tjack sprint on-the first day,, but there was no fluke about his win on Saturday. Alloy again went well, but Whakapara, who is apparently not himselt,- tailed to run ■on after being well placed :for over seven furlongs. PAGANELLI ATONES. a failed bad'y ridden Ty R. Reed on the first day; was seen to considerably more . advantage in winning the Anniversary Handicap from end to end Ontlm occasion he was ridden by 0. MclrmUy, and, hitting the front quickly; gave, nothing a chance. Ganpat was his closest attendant for most of the J™rn^ but <he could not get any closer than; two. lengths at the finish.
