CKRISTCHUKCH, 30th January.

Excellent samples of milling wheat have come-forward, weighing up to 63 and 641b to the bushel. Millers have bought a little at the fixed price of 4s B%d f.0.b., for Tuscan. Fowl wheat is quoted at 4s sd, f.0.b., for prompt delivery; "spread" has been available during tho mid-week at 4s 2%d. . A Garton oats are quoted at South Island ports for spread delivery at 3s Id f.0.b., s.i. Prompt local Gartons are worth 2s 9d on trucks. Very few Algerians are offering, and from 3s to 3s 3d on trucks is offering for them. Chaff shows no change,- and is worth £4 a .ton for prompt on trucks. A. few samples of barley have come in, but there is no market for it. Partridge peas, very firm, with a few sold Home at ss'2d for No. 1, or 4s 6d to growers. Akaroa cocksfoot has been sold at 9%d for old season's machine-dressed. Merchants' offers for new season's range from 6Hd to 7d a lb for farmers' dressed, 8d being paid for specially good samples. . For good 27-281b ryegrass up to 4s on trucks is being offered. Italian' ::yegras6 is quoted at 3s 6d to 3s 9d on trucks.

The potato market is inclined to be firmer. Prices so far are £4 a ton, f.0.b., s.i., for the main crop, but growers are not accepting the equivalent of £3 on trucks. Dry weather and frost are expected to reduce yields.
