BOOT REPAIRS FREE
SMITH FAMILY'S WORK
ORDERS ESSENTIAL
The latest beneficent activity in which the Smith. Family has interested itself, is-the provision, of free mending of boots' and shoes for", relief workers, and the collection of footwear from.all sources to be distributed amongst tho needy. It is essential that those applying for 'repairs should first approach the Buckle street Labour "Bureau, and obtain ■written authority for the repairs. The taking of boots to tho repairing bliop, which is in the old milk depot, without aii authority, will merely lead to misunderstandings. Those who are unablo to pay for repairs will find it easy to get their chits from the bureau, but some chock has to be kept on the free repairs 'pcrmitte'd, otherwise those able to pay might .take advantage of the offer. Tho "m'en doing the repairs will be pnid'undcr the No: 5 Scheme.
Arrangements "have been made by the Smith Family for. tram conductors and milk roundsmen to accept parcels of old' boots and shoes. These must bo addressed to the Smith Family, which will see, to their repair and distribution among needy families. Already 200 pairs of boots and shoes have been received.
