CAPITALISING INTEREST

PALMERSTON N., This Day.
At a meeting •of • the • Wellington Provincial executive' of the Farmers' Union held in Peilding yesterday a resolution was carried favouring the introduction of legislation permitting State lending institutions to capitalise interest payments due under table mortgages. The subject was discussed following the consideration of a remit from the Eangiwahia branch recording opposition to the Public Trust Office action in capitalising interest, on the ground that the practice was not in th* best interests of the country.
