MOVEMENTS QF SLOOPS
The Minister of Defence (tho Hon. J. G. Cobbe),-has | announced tho following movements of H.M.S. Veronica anfl H.M.13. Laburnum:—
Tho Veronica will,depart from Auckland on Wednesday, 3rd February, and proceed to Lyttelton, where she is due on Saturday, 6th February. She will then visit Dunedin,1 Stewart Island, Timairu, Akaroa, Lyttelton, and Picton* The ship is also scheduled to visit the Sounds or the Bluff, but the state Of th* weather at the time- will determino which of these two places it is to' be. While at Stewart Island the sloop crew will hold their regatta. The Veronica is duo at Wellington on Tuesday, lStH'Apiil. Over a month will be spent at Wellington, and during that time the crew will undergo their annual musketry course. - ' Departure will bo taken from Wellington for Gisborne'on Saturday, 14th May.' Several days fcill be spent at Gisborne, and, the'sloop is due back at Auckland on> Mondavi 23rd May. j ■ i , ' , ~- }, ', '.
