Since last night, however, a change to southerlles has set in over the Dominion, and rain, which had been confined mainly to western districts,, has been fairly general and heavy at scattered places. Thunderstorms have occurred in parts of the western districts of the South Island, Westport experiencing a severe one yesterday afternoon.
