EVIDENCE OF SKIPPER
LONDON, 27th January. A message from Portland states that1 the search is being continued for 312 by H.M.S. Tedworth, with deep-.ssa1 diving appliances and extra clivers operating. It is stated that unless the--oxygen' reservoirs are out of action it is possible' that the crew will survive for two or three days. A British "United Press representative at Gravelines, France, interviewed' Captain Howard, master of'the Tyne-' sider, who, telephoning the Admiralty, said: "I saw >a submarine with the mark '2.' Some minutes later I saw' the submarino with its end down at .an angle of 45 degrees. "It then 'dived into the sea, eight' miles north-wqfsf by north of Portland Bill and two and a half miles from tho short. Ours -was the only .boat near."
