CRICKET
SOUTH AFRICAN TOUR
OTAGO DISPLEASED
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.). DUNEDIN, 28th January. . At a meeting of the Otago Cricket Association this evening, when the itinerary of the South African team was being discussed, general dissatisfaction was expressed by members at the manner in which the New Zealand Council had ignored. Otago's representations that the match at Christehurch should be against a South Island team. This would have given several of Otago's leading cricketers an opportunity to play against the South Africans, but with a Test match at Christchurch Otago players will be deprived of this chance. . It waa considered that while a match at Auckland in preference to Duneilin might be justified upon financial grounds, no similar argument could be put forward in favour ot the Test match at Christchurch. The association decided that the Otago delegates next year should take up with the council the manner in which the claims of this province hail been overlooked.
