COOL WEATHER
CONTINUANCE LIKELY
I Under the influence of a series of Slight cyclones to the north-east and east of New Zealand,! the father gens er^lly has been changeable^ with showers in scattered places'.. As the anti-cyclone to the w^st has made Uttle eastward progress^; moderate; to strong southerly winds have continued to' prevail. Tfeere was, however, this morning an improvement in the weather over the Sojith Island, especially in western and southern portions. ■ ' : It was fine but cloudy in Auckland yesterday,,tho wind being a cool southerly. Wellington had cool^ dull, and at times threatening weather, a fresh southerly wind prevailing. Light rain, amounting to two pointß, fell early this morning. Cold aim showery weather with a rather strong southerly wind was experienced in Christchurch yesterday. A fresh south-westerly wind prevailed in Dunedin, where there was considerable cloud in tho morning, but more pleasant conditions in the afternoon. .. ~ .
Moderate to strong southerly winds still, figure > in to-day's forecast. Although mainly fair weather may be expected- over most of the South Island, in Marlborough and over the North Island the weather will remain cloudy and somewhat dull. Scattered showers are likely, with heavy falls in the East Cape district and in the far North. Temperatures will still be cooL
