ON TRENTHAM TRACKS

FINAL GALLOPS EXECUTED

AUTOPAY AND HEREMIA

The tracks were busy at Trenthaul this morning, and several of the candidate for to-morrow's races were gal loped fast. Most of the visitors arc now to hand, but many of them came only this morning, and they were not out on the tracks till late. The plough and the course iiroper, both in fast order, were open. . Unless otherwise mentioned the work was on the plough.

Eed Sun finished about three parts of a length in front of Normandy after doing six furlongs in linin lCsee, the last half-mile in 51 2-qsec.

Weatherstep completely turned the tables on Moab Queen, winning their live furlongs' trial by five or six lengths, her time being lmiu 3 l-6sec for the full distance and 49 4-ssec for the'last half mile.

On the course proper Teastream ran half a mile nicely in 48 4-osec. Over the same course Michael Angeld, after a slow beginning, required 50sec. Prince Pombal and Volga Boatman followed, the former coming home a length in front in the excellent time of 47 4-5 see.

Lady Pam and Spear Lad wound up their work with- a half-inilo sprint, the former finishing just in fronf in 49 4-5 sec. '

Faghorn beat Capetown by, half a length at the end of six furlongs in lmin 16 3-ssec, the last half-mile in ulsec. Kilstar was two lengths better than Marjoram- over five furlongs in lmin ssee, the last half-mile in 51 4-5 sec, but he could not have done much better. . • .

Sailing and Gaysong ran' half a mile in 54sec, but it was a poor pick up, in which Gaysong had to wait for his mate.

Arisus sprinted an. even half-mile alone in 50 l-ssec, and stretched out attractively. '' ■ .

PRINCESS ARGOSY WELL,

, Princess Argosy beat her stablemate, Royal Limond, nicely by a neck at the end of half a mils in 49 3-ssec. Both horses, look well. :

Might surprised by finishing a couple of lengths in front of his stablemate, Clangor, at the end.of, three furlongs in 3Gsec. Meritor was a lot too good for Colossical over the same journey in 37sec. • . . -. :

Cadland and Arena were on. the track,- but .did easy pace work only. The former bears a very fit' appearance. Banbridge was slightly in front of Pedestal at the end of six furlongs in lmin 17sec, but neither could have done much better. Arvada, Silvermine, and' Game Carrington did easy work only. Chrysology sprinted five furlongs comfortably in lmin 5 3-osec, the last halfmilo in 50 4-sscc. On the course proper Esteem took a similar timo for a similar distance, but ho was at top only in the straight. Both horses are in good trim. ' .

Eminent beat Lyrical by a length over five furlongs in lmin* 4sec* the last half-mile in 50 2-53 CC. Oratorian nnd Lavington ran six furlongs together in lniht 17sec, the last half-mile in 5] 3-ssec. :'■'•.■• ......

Peter Jackson impressed by the way lie beat Admiral Drake by a length at the close of seven furlongs in Imin -8 4-osec, tlio last half-mile in 51 4-5 sec. They carried similar weights, and Peter Jackson drew to the front over the last furlong. Royal Saxon and Nea~Lap, working on the course proper, ran a mile together in ■ Imin 42gec, the last seven furlongs in Imin 29 4-ssec, and the filial half-mile in 53 2-ssee. As indicated by the sectional times they'were slowing up at the end, but their figures were nevertheless good. . . ■ Mataa showed that she possesses a lot of speed by slipping over three furlongs in 35 4-sscc. She; ,was going' very strongly at the finish. Nightmare followed over a like distance, but was not timed. . :' .. ' : ■

Gold,, Sand sprinted ■ five; furlongs, being timed to run the final, half-mile in 49sec. High Comedy did an easy half-mile in 50 1-usec,' and was not doing his best at any point. Pahu shaded Alpinist at the end of six furlongs in•lmin 16 l-ssec, the last half-mile: taking 50sec. ' . Late Jest beat Cockpen l3y a length over half a' mile in 50sec. St. Roger caught Waratah and,led him, past the post by a neck at the close of five furlongs in Imin 3 l-ssec, tb/e final halfmile in 50 2-ssec. • .

Equitant and Interlocutor recorded;a smart performance in reeling off half a mile in 48 2-osec. '■■: ■ . .

Gesturo was riot speeded up to full pace, taking lmin 20sec for her six furlongs. Bright Song easily beat "Switch On over a similar distance in lmin 19 l-ssec, and could have improved the time. ..-■','

Ori the "course proper, Chief Cook, Chief Clerk, and In Vain were separated by lengths "at the end of five furlongs in lmin 2sec, the last half-mile in 49 2-ssec. Chief Cook particularly went well. In Vain is definitely to start in the highweight to-morrow.

Moa Bird did an easy seven furlongs in lmin 32 4-ssec, the final half-mile requiring 55 2-ssec. . •.. ~

Heremia was being held back to Ganpat at the close of a five furlongs' trial in lmin 3sec, tho last half-mile in 50sec. It looked as'though Heremia could have won the test very, easily had he been asked to do so. ' '

Dainty Ways and Joie do" Val both went well in their seven furlong's in 1 mm 29 4-ssec, :the last half-mile in, 52 4-Ssee. The former was • a shade in front at the end, but the latter--was full of running. -..■.-

All Humbug took lmin 5 -4-osee for five furlongs, the last. half-mile-in 51 l-ssec, but ho was not unduly" bustled along. .;•,>;■'■: ,- ■ ; - ■

Gay, Court did half a mile in 52,3-5 sec, but was favouring a leg when he returned to the centre.

Antopay and -Solitaire; 11. sprinted, half a milo lip tho back in 49 4-ssec, the effort 'being better than the- figures might indicate, as it was accomplished from a standing start.

Maypay and Sage took 53 l-osec for half a mile. Retract ran six furlongs in lmin 18 l-ssee, the last half-mile in 53sec, a good showing for him, as he is a bad track horse. • v

The only scratching-announced yet is Jenny Diver from the JJuapohu Handicap. Bippling Waters' and Bambury

have been withdrawn from the Wellington Stakes.
