AUCKLAND, 17th January
The steam yacht Nahlin, in which Lady Yule and her daughter; Miss Gladys Yule; have '■ come to New Zealand for fishing and sight-seeing, arrived at. Russell from Hobart yesterday. ' "■. ■ '' . '... ' '
The Nahlin is in command of Captain Raincy, R.N.1?., who has1 -a crew Of 51. She is 312 ft long, draws 14ft 6in, 'and has a cruising speed of 17 knots. ■ • ■ . .
Lady Yule intends to start, big-game fishing to : morrow, using Zaiie Grey's launch. After Lady Yulo and lief daughter have fished at the bay they will come to Auckland in the yadht and go on to Taupo, for some trout fishing in the Tongariro River; th6n they, will go down to. Wanganui to rejoin, the Nahliri a"t Wellington. In the South Island they will visit Mount Cook.and then walk over tho To, Anau-Milford track. The yacht •will be waiting for them in\ Milford Sound, arid in her they will yis'it Dusky Sound and Doubtful Sound,, and then return to Wellington, where the yacht Will refuel before leaving on the homeward trip via Panama.
Lady Yule is. the widow of Sir David Yule, of .India, a merchant who was described ,as probably . tho wealthiest man in the .British Empire.
