TRANSPORT LICENCES
CLOSING DAY TO-MORROW
SOME MISUNDERSTANDING
The Commissioner of Transport (Mr. J. S. Hunter) reports that the preliminary work under the Transport Licensing Act, 1931, is proceeding smoothly. A number of applications for passengerservice licences have, already been je-. ceived. The closing day for applications is to-morrow, and operators who have not made applications should, in their own interests, make them immediately. : ■.'■.- ■.-. ■
Some misunderstanding appears to exist regarding the distribution of forms. The position is that just before the holidays forms were distributed to all operators known to. the Department. Although every endeavour was made to have this list as complete as possible, experience has disclosed that a number of operators were not included. Operators who have not received application forms by this time should apply immediately to the Transport Department, Wellington, or the nearest district office of the Public Works Department. '
