VALLEY COURT RETURNS
Hutt . Valley Magistrate's Court returns show .'that during the last quarter, as compared with the last quarter of 1930, there has.been a decrease in both civil and criminal business at Petone, a decrease'in criminal cases at Lower Hutt, but an increase in the civil business at Lower Hutt. The figures, with 1930's .quarter's in parentheses, are:— '■■
■: Eetone.—Number of plaints, 60 (150); total amount -sued for, £1238 3s 9d ,(£2609 12s-7d);-criminal cases, 82 (184); amount of fines, £46 15s (£122 16s). I Lower Hutt.—Number oS: 'plaint's, 166 (121); total amount sued for, £3139 3s 7d '(£2185 2s 6d); criminal cases, 89 (106); amount of fines, £39 2s 6d (£lO4 10s).
.. Mr. F. Williams, who conducts a "Down and Out" mission in Auckland, is spending his annual holiday in Wellington", as he has done several times before, in part T)'y continuing to preach, the Gospel to the unfortunates of this city and endeavouring ,to help them--to- recovery. He speaks in the Alexandra -Hall to-night and on -Thursday arid at Newtown on Wednesday.
