SPEEDWAY RACING
HUXLEY TO COMPETE
Many noted speedway riders from overseas have been attracted to New Zealand since the establishment of the sport in ' this country, but there has been none so . great as Vie. Huxley, Australia's Test i captain and winner of the world's speed- ! way championship in two successive sea- ' sons. To-day Huxley arrived from Australia, and he is to compete at the Kil- \ birnie Stadium on Saturday night, an event which is regarded as the greatest in the history of speedway racing here. Huxley is recognised as the world's best performer on the speedways, and his manyastounding achievements certainly .support that claim. No other rider has broken so many records, nor has then? been one to win so many contests as Hux- ' loy has done during his -wonderful career. His appearance here should account for the greatest interest yet shown in any meeting. An attractive programme has been arranged, and, with Farndon as welt as Huxley among the competitors, tli» racing should be of aii exceptionally high order.
