The. Prime Minister stated to-day that nothing had yet been done'regarding tho appointment of a successor to the Hon. D. Jones, Minister of Agriculture and Mines. The Reform members of the Coalition Cabinet were appointed, he said, on the recommendation of Mr. Coates, and seeing that Mr. Jones was a Reform member, Mr. Coates would make the recommendation with regard to his successor. Mr. Forbes said definitely that there would be no increase in the number of members of the Cabinet; the Government wished to avoid as much extra expenditure as possible.

Only people who arc teetotallers,' nonsmokers, and vegetarians will be allowed to settle in a now town to be built near Prague, Czechoslovakia.
