DOMINION TOURNEY

PLAY IN THE SINGLES

(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, 11th January. In perfect summer weather, the nineteenth annual championship tournament of the New Zealand Bowling Association was commenced on city and suburban greens to-day. The search for the 1932 Dominion ' champions will last about a fortnight. Four rounds of sectional play iv the singles championship were played, the matches being distributed, among twelve greens. During the long spell of dry weather groundsmen have had a difficult tusk to keep the turf in good order, but almost without exception the greens gave every satisfaction, playing fast and true once the moisture from the rains of the previous night had dried out under the effects of a hot sun.
