SCHOOL GROUND FOR GARDENING
T.heJohnsqnviile Town.Board, at its .meeting . last night, received, a letter from-.the: Commissioner 'of Unemployment statttig that it. had been decided that no relief was to be allotted until it had been ascertained that a worker was endeavouring- to assist himself by the cultivation of a garden plot or any vacant ground available. In the case of those men who have no. ground, the local bodies are-asked to assist by providing ground.
It was pointed put by a commissioner that some time !ago :the.. local relief workers applied for .the use of the school section for cultivation. . ' ■ \ .
It was decided to recommend to the local Unemployment Committeo .that this section Vould be available.
