CAMPING CLUB AT HOME

TEMPORARY MEMBERSHIP

The Wellington Automobile Club supplies particulars I'or the information of intending visitors to the Old Country with regard to tho Camping Club of Great Britain and Ireland.

The information may be of use to those visiting England who propose making a camping tour of the Old Country. Altogether there are 1120 camps in England, 200 in Wales, 42 in Scotland, and 19 in Ireland. Devonshire heads the list with 120 and Cornwall is next with 69.

Most of the sites sire available- for the use of visiting motorists. Conditions under which temporary membership may be gained are as follows—

(1) A person who is not ordinarily resident in Great Britain and Ireland may be entitled to temporary membership on payment of a fee of five shillings.

(2) The temporary ticket of membership shall be available for a period of three calendar months from date of issue.

(3) A temporary member shall be entitled to receive free of charge: (a) Tho Year. Book and sites list of the club. (b) Touring information and itineraries in the United Kingdom, (c) Use of the club's permanent sites on the same terms as ordinary members.

(4) A temporary member shall also be entitled to such special facilities as the council may, from time to time, think proper and determine.

(5) A temporary member shall have none of the rights, privileges (except those mentioned above) or obligations of a member of the club, and shall not be entitled to receive notice of any of the meetings of the club or to vote thereat.

(6) A copy of the conditions of issue shall accompany the ticket and the acceptance of the ticket shall be deemed to be an acceptance of the condition of its issue.
