N.Z. HISTORY IN BRIEF

The hobby of a lifetime, to save and collate an impressive mass of data, has been turned to good advantage from the point of view of those who use reference books as regards dates and New Zealand history, in "Datus," a chronology of New Zealand from the time of the moa up to almost yesterday. The indofatigable compiler is Mr. George 'Finn, the immediate past-presi: dent of the New, Zealand Manufacturers' Federation, and a Government representative'on the first National Unemployment Board. It is a multum in parvo history of New Zealand,' and, as such, should prove to be a valuable acquisition to practically everybody. It makes New Zealand's comparatively brief history live again in a very readable and accessible form.
