In conversation with a "Post" reporter to-day, the Belgian Consul, M. Nihotte, said that tho imports of butter into Belgium from all countries totalled 12,500 tons in 1920, and 10,000 tons in 1930. For the first six months of the current year the imports amounted to 6000 tons. During the month of September last there was a re-export of butter from London to Belgium of 320 tons of butter, practically all of which was from Australia or New Zealand.
It is understood that arrangements are to bo made by tho New Zealand Fruit Export Control Board for shipments of apples to bo made direct to Antwerp, and. that in that case a still further reduction in the duty will be made.
