LATHAM ALARMED
LONGER TERM OF LANG
PARTY WILL HELP STATE
SYDNEY, 9th December
The Deputy Leader of the Federal Opposition, Mr. Latham, in an election speech here to-night, said he regarded with apprehension and terror another three years of the Seulliu Government or a further term of the Lang Administration in Now South Wales.
"If we are elected to office, as I believe wo shall be, we .will explore every method of helping the citizens of New South Wales out of their difficult plight. If an amendment to the Constitution is required to give the Federal Government joint control over a State which by deliberate repudiation unjustly increases the burdens on her sister States and challenge the whole foundation of Australia's credit, we will be prepared to submit an amendment to the people for that purpose."
Mr. Latham's announcement was tuinultuously cheered.
