Bitehie, who has .been in Napier since the earthquake in February, is returning to Dimedin to .take up his position as medical officer of health, and is leaving Wellington .by, the Eangatira this evening. . . ■ ■. Dr. Stanley Jones, tho author of the book, "Tho' Christ of the Indian Boad," has been invited to visit NewZealand in 1932 or 1933 by tho New Zealand Missionary Council, reports the "Church News." Mr. Vivian Smith, A.1v.C.A.,; at present Art Master at Wellington Technical College, has been appointed to a similar position at the Wanganui Technical College to succeed-Mr. Vincent Evans, A.8.C.A., who is: returning, to England. • . . The indisposition of the Bishopl ot Melanesia, Bishop Molyneusy who recently suffered a serious nervous breakdown, is referred to in tho ''Church. News," which states- that it --may necessitate the Bishop's returning to England to recuperate. A request is made for prayer for the Bishop's speedy recovery and for the Assistant Bishop and the mission staff. "It cannot be doubted that the worry _ over the financial position of the mission, and the struggle to make ends meet on the diminished income, arc responsible for his breakdown," the "Church News" states. Advice has licen received in Wellington of tho death at Durban of Mr. Edward Branscombo, the well-known concert manager, who was touring South Africa with the : Westminster Glee Singers. Westminster Abbey, first toured' Now Zealand with an English concert party which included Miss Thudichum, Miss Marion M'Kenzie, and Mr. Douglas Powell.
