Mr. Vorsyth moved the toliuwng motion:—"That tho members of the Wellington Education Board record their deep regret at the passing of Sir John Luke, who has for so many years taken such a prominent part in all matters relating to tho social wolfnro ol tho citizens of Wellington, and, in particular, his great interest and work for the extension of educational facilities in Wellington. Tho members desiro to tender their deepest sympathy to Lady Luke and tho members of their family in their irreparable loss." The motion was carried, members standing ijj silence.
A motion of sympntliy with the relatives of the lafc Sir John Lukn was pusscd at a meeting of the Wellington centre of the New Zealand Red Cross Society yesterday.
