TRYING DEVICE HIMSELF
LONDON, 7th December. : ~ A young French aviator named, Sauvant, of Nice, has invented, a doublecased aeroplane which he intends to ignite and crash to earth, aco6mpanied by a mechanic, from a height of 3000 feet in the Alpes Maritimes. •
Sauvant declares that, the occupants can escape uninjured from the inner case when the fire is extinguished. He made satisfactory experiments with a miniature machine, in which he placed a lamp. He also dropped an ostrich egg containing a hen's egg from a height of 375 feet. The latter w»i not broken. ■'■"■:. '" ■ ■" '■ : ; '
