SANDERS CUP
TWO MORE CHALLENGERS
Challenges 'on behalf of : Auckland and Southland-for the Sanders Cup were received by the Wellington' Provincial Yacht and Motor-boat Association last evening. This brings the total number of challenges to four, Canterbury and^ Otago having already notified their ; intention to enter the contest, which is to be commenced on Wellington Harbour on 18th January. . „ The following crew to man.the isetty, the Wellington defender, was announced: D Beaumont, L. Robertson, J. Elliott, 1. Watt, M. Lang, J. Cowan (substitute lightweight), and one to be selected. A. Johnston will be skipper. It was decided to hold the Anniversary Day regatta on 22nd January on the Koyal Port Nicholson Yacht Club's course. The races for the Inter-Club Cup and the Duncan Cup are to be sailed on the Evans Bay Yacht Club's course. The tentative date is 6th February, but in view of the possibility of the races clashing with the Corhwell Cup contest, which commences on Ist February, they may be postponed until the 13th.
