WHO 15 COALITIONIST ?

AUCKLAND, This Day. In connection with one of the most acrimonious political discussions for years, the question of who is the Coalition candidate for Auckland West, Mi. JAG Allum (Reform) answers the challenge of Mr. H. B. Mackenzie (United) by stating that he has produced for Mr. Mackenzie's inspection a letter dated 24th October from tho Bight Hon. J. G. Coates, stating: It lias been agreed that in Auckland West tho Keform candidate will be recognised as the official Government nominee. Mr. Allum also produced a letter accepting the position, and Mr. Coates s acknowledgment dated 30th October. _ In the meantime Mr. Mackenzie is campaigning solidly.
