PEOPLE'S RIGHTS
CHOICE OF CANDIDATES
The assertion that no Government and no section of the Press had tlio right to judge the fitness of candidates to contest a Parliamentary election was made by Mr. K. M'Lennnn, Independent Coalition candidate for Wellington Suburbs, iv the course of an iulflmss in Kelburn last night.
"If I. had not contested this scat," lie air) "it would have been a sham light, lici-.-msc Mr. Wright would have won easily. The people are able to
think for themselves, and there is no need for them to be told by party leaders or the Press how they should vote."
