THE COALITION LEADERS
HOSTILITY AT AUCKLAND AND DUNEDIN
The outstanding speeches delivered last night in the election campaign were those of the two Coalition leaders in ihc centre of Auckland and Dunediu cities. Both *ere received with displays of hostility by noisy sections of their audiences. At Dunedin, the Prime Minister (the Right Hon. G. W. Forbes) was frequently counted out, but only a portion of the crowded audience was responsible for rowdyism, and towards the close of his spcecli Mr. Forbes was given an ovation. The Right Hon. J. G. Coates had to face similar obstruction at the Auckland Town Hall, but he wore down Ihe inlemiptors as lie proceeded. In Wellington Central, the Coalition candidate, Mr. Darroch, was subjected to continuous uproar in an address fat the Victoria Hall, Adelaide road.
